The carrots sold by at our farmer’s market are like candy. Especially after being roasted on the grill. It’s important to get the skinnier ones, since the really big ones take forever to cook.

Hmm. I like carrots in soup to give flavor to the broth. But beyond that, they can stay in the bowl. 😉 Raw or grilled for me.

Reminds me of when my sister and I were kids and we planted carrots (and radishes) in window boxes on our balcony.

Is the memory coming from the more rustic feel of this carrot? I think this carrot has too many imperfections for the supermarket.

No, I think it’s because they look small. We couldn’t wait to eat our carrots, so we never let them grow very big.
