Dramatic Flamingo

Dramatic Flamingo

Yes, this is a real flamingo.  It is probably the most dramatic flamingo image, as it steps from the shadows.  Very little post processing was done to this other than trying to sharpen it just a tad since there is the slightest bit of motion blur.  I love the lighting here!

  1. Nice lighting on the flamingo, Sean. Looks like a studio shot. Did you kidnap the bird into the photo studio? Haha 😀

    • Always keep a spare supply of flamingos in the studio. You never know when you’ll need a shot like this. This was behind glass at the aquarium with less than desirable lighting. It worked out though.

    • Etherial. Excellent. I have never had a picture labeled as etherial before! 🙂 Thanks, Tracy!

  3. VERY nice! Although I would have brightened him up just enough to make the other leg a little more visible (keep the background black).
Could be just my monitor making it look too dark, though.

    • I would have brightened him up a bit, or at least the one leg, if it weren’t for the horrendous quality of this picture. It is perfect at 600px wide. Beyond that, eek. There is so much noise. His other leg looked speckled. I think this was shot at 1600 iso.
