Standing Proud

Standing Proud

How does one 6 year old look near the end of a good day before the fireworks start?  Quite happy and proud of course!  I love her expression, and the warmth from the sun.  I’m considering removing the kids on the right if I print this out for home-use, or just cropping it tighter.

  1. She looks like she thoroughly enjoyed the day. I bet she was sad when it was over and can’t wait for next year.

I wouldn’t crop tighter if you get this printed, and remove the kids instead. I think this crop is perfect.

    • Oh she was very sad when it was over. Well, she was over-tired, which manifests itself as upset, crying and tears. 🙂 Thanks for the feedback, Michaela.

  3. Great shot, I like the lighting. If this was a photo I took, I would crop the photo rather than take out, just my opinion. 🙂

Beautiful expression, beautiful light. I like the way this is composed so I think I’d be inclined to leave it as is and just remove the extra children.

    • Thanks AC. I’m a big fan of backlighting with the evening sun and the warm mood it creates.

  5. Nice one Sean. I like the antique feeling the evening sun gives the lighting here.

Beautiful effect. I’d keep the picture the same size and ratio as it is, and would either remove the other kids or maybe make that area darker and less obvious. Maybe blur it a little?

    • Thanks, Val. I didn’t think of blurring it, I’ll see how it looks. It is definitely easier. 🙂
